FAQ

Makeup Brushes

There are core differences between Vegan Bristles and Nylon in terms of definition, material range, and performance:

Differences in Definition and Category:

Nylon: A specific type of synthetic fiber (such as Nylon 6 or 66) known for its relatively high rigidity.

Vegan Bristles: A broader concept centered on environmental and animal protection. It refers to all brushes that are 100% free of animal hair and cruelty-free.

Breadth of Materials:

Nylon can be considered a type of vegan bristle.

However, modern Vegan Bristles often include high-end modified synthetic fibers (such as corn fiber, BASF fiber, and microcrystalline silk) that are superior to traditional nylon.

Tactile Feel and Application:

Traditional nylon has a smooth surface and weak powder-pickup, making it best for liquid or cream makeup.

Modern Vegan Bristles are treated with micronization and bionic technology, making them soft, elastic, and non-irritating, with powder-pickup and blending capabilities that rival or exceed natural animal hair.

In cosmetic brush manufacturing, Micro Crystal Fiber (MCF) offers distinct advantages over traditional nylon.

Surface Structure & Powder Pickup: Traditional nylon is relatively smooth and suited for liquid or cream formulas. MCF features a micro-crystalline structure with scales that mimic natural animal hair, significantly enhancing powder pickup for stray powders and eyeshadows.

Tactile Feel & Softness: While nylon can feel stiff or prickly, MCF fibers are ultra-fine with silky tips, providing a luxurious, silk-like skin feel while maintaining high elasticity.

Durability: Both are antibacterial and easy to clean, but MCF is superior for high-end OEM/ODM projects. When paired with professional adhesives and double-crimped ferrules, it resists shedding and fraying, making it the top choice for eco-friendly, premium global brands.

Yes. Based on our years of makeup brush manufacturing experience, we have invested significant effort and testing into enhancing durability.

Brush Head:

We utilize a high-standard bristle fixing process, reinforcing the base of the brush head with both AB glue and yellow glue. This dual-fixation method significantly improves stability, ensuring that bristles do not shed easily even after repeated washing and frequent use.

Connection (Handle to Ferrule):

For the assembly of the handle and the brush head, we also apply a double reinforcement of AB glue and hot-melt glue to make the overall structure more stable and prevent loosening or detachment. We use high-quality imported hot-melt adhesive strips to further guarantee the durability and reliability of our brushes.

Yes, all our products pass international standard quality testing and have obtained relevant certifications.

We offer comprehensive OEM/ODM services including: bristle material selection, handle shape & color customization, logo printing/laser engraving, packaging design & customization, mixed-color bristle blending.

We offer multiple bristle options: premium nano-fiber hair (mimicking natural hair feel), PBT synthetic fiber (durable, easy to clean), and natural animal hair (horse, goat, sable, raccoon, fox, squirrel). All animal bristles are obtained without harm to animals, and all synthetic fibers are SGS and FDA certified.

We are ISO 9001 certified with a comprehensive QC process: incoming material inspection → in-process inspection → finished product full inspection → pre-packaging sampling. Each batch comes with a QC report.

We inject high-quality, washable two-component AB adhesive deep into the bristle roots so that it penetrates the bundle and secures the base of the hairs, rather than only coating the surface. After shaping, every brush undergoes physical combing and a pull test before packaging to remove loose, unsecured hairs and check bristle retention. These controls are designed to minimise shedding during normal use and cleaning.

Once the pre-production sample is approved, we lock the standard bristle weight for that brush shape. During production, the bristles for each head are individually weighed with a tolerance within 0.1 g and shaped in a fixed-diameter mould. Controlling both hair weight and shaping volume helps keep bulk-production density consistent with the approved reference sample.

We combine chemical bonding with mechanical fixation. Industrial-grade, washable two-component AB adhesive bonds the ferrule to the handle; after precise assembly, dual or triple-step crimping secures the metal ferrule into the grooves of the wooden or plastic handle. This two-part approach helps reduce loosening associated with humidity, temperature changes and adhesive ageing.

Makeup

We customize eyeshadow, blush, contour and all-in-one makeup palettes. Cases come in ABS, PET, or aluminum. Colors, shade count (e.g. 9 / 12 / 24 wells) and exterior printing can be fully tailored. MOQ usually starts from 1,000 pcs.

MOQs vary widely depending on the product type and filling complexity. Typical standards:

Pressed powder / eyeshadow / blush: usually 3,000 – 5,000 pcs per shade.

Lipstick / lip gloss / mascara: 3,000 – 5,000 pcs per shade per SKU.

Liquid foundation / tone-up cream: from 5,000 bottles (sometimes calculated by bulk weight, e.g. 100kg or 300kg per batch).

Note: For brand-new category development or fully customized packaging, the MOQ is often tied to the packaging supplier's MOQ (typically from 10,000 pcs).

Cost is mainly driven by five core areas:

Bulk formula cost: whether it contains patented actives, vegan or natural-organic positioning, powder fineness, pigment payoff, etc.

Packaging & design: stock mold vs. custom tooling, material (standard plastic ABS/PP, metal or glass), printing techniques (silk-screen, hot stamping, 3D embossing, etc.).

Scale (order volume): the larger the order, the lower the per-unit cost on raw materials and machine setup.

Processing & filling: complex SKUs such as multi-color eyeshadow palettes or marbled lipsticks require more labor / craftsmanship and higher processing fees.

Compliance & testing: third-party lab testing and regulatory registration fees in each target market.

Fees: the first round of standard samples (basic texture, stock shade) is usually free or charged a small refundable deposit (refunded against mass production). If samples require costly specialty raw materials or many multi-shade iterations, a cost fee may apply.

Rounds: a reliable factory will not strictly cap the number of revisions within reason, working until the client is satisfied — but locking the formula within 3-4 rounds is recommended.

Lead time: regular sample making takes about 3 – 7 working days; if bulk stability testing is required (e.g. 45°C high-temp, hot/cold cycling, microbial / anti-mold), allow 2 – 4 weeks.

Formula: yes. However, the factory must perform feasibility and stability assessments to confirm the formula can be stably mass-produced on the factory's industrial emulsifying / mixing equipment.

Raw materials: yes, brands may supply them. The brand must provide the COA (Certificate of Analysis), MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and INCI name to ensure compliance with cosmetics safety regulations.

Both models work:

Brand-supplied packaging (typical OEM): the brand sources from its own packaging vendor and ships to the factory. Samples must be sent to the factory in advance for compatibility and filling tests (to prevent melting of the bulk, cracking or leakage).

Factory-handled (typical ODM): the factory leverages its own supply chain to source stock-mold packaging or assist with custom tooling, providing a full turnkey service.

Lead time depends heavily on when packaging is in-house:

Packaging in stock / repeat order: once packaging arrives, bulk production, filling and packing typically take 15 – 30 working days.

Full new development (including custom packaging): from design lock, packaging production, bulk sampling through final filling, usually 60 – 90 days (add another 30 – 45 days if custom packaging tooling is required).

When evaluating a strong color cosmetics factory, the following certifications are the gateway:

ISO 22716 (Cosmetics Good Manufacturing Practices)

GMPC (Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetics — US and EU versions)

Whether the factory has regulatory experience for different markets (US FDA, EU CPNP, China NMPA, etc.) and can provide export-required documentation such as chemical safety statements or Free Sale Certificates.

Typically the brand acts as the registrant / notifier, while the OEM factory, as the actual manufacturer, supplies all required technical documentation (manufacturing process, full ingredient list, microbial test reports, etc.). The brand can file with the relevant authority directly, or pay the factory's regulatory team to handle it on its behalf.
